Dear GroundZero,
Re wind-generated electricity:
Wind towers are not really suitable for
suburban areas - so I've never
bothered to check them out.
BUT there is a water and power
saving measure I did install.
For the price of three de-commissioned
one-cent pieces (inserted into the
pipe that holds the shower-head
to the wall in the main bathroom,
the main bedroom's en-suite and
the student bathroom) three coins
that I drilled to make three 'flow
limiters', I am doing my bit to cut
back on our demand for coal-base
and power and save water every
time sombody takes a shower.
PLUS I put a tiny
four-minute 'hour-glass'
on each shower wall to remind
the seven folk who live here
that daily showering
consumes power and
precuous water at
a prodigius rate.
But mercifully limited
by our three one-cent
'flow limiters' I thunk up
all by myself and without
a Federal Subsidy! (vbg!)
As a further recycling
measure, the shower
water plus the dish-washer
and clothes-washer water
is harvested by a 'grey-water'
harvesting and irrigation
syetem I designed and
installled that feeds into
the five-tank rainwater
storage and irrigation
system that I was
working on today
by way of connecting
our new Tank Five to
the other tanks and
irrigation pump.
So all in all I am very happy with what
we are doing here and especially
with how well the new solar
hot water and solar power
systems work - almost
without human supervision
once the initial investment
is made and rapidly forgotten
like the pains of childbirth
are soon forgotten as
a new phase of life
kicks in amid joy
and gratitude.
All we have to do is vote out
the little kid-cager and
life will be so good
I'll need to employ
somebody to help
me to enjoy it!
