Isnt Poipet a transport hub to get buses to places like Siem Reap and to other more tourist attractive towns in the country? So that might make it at least a possibility of attracting more use of its accommodation facilities, even if its a shitehole. I have travelled the world and been to a couple of really interesting shiteholes in my time and some of the shiteholes were in western countries, not just asia and people need a bed to sleep even in shiteholes.
