Spot pricing for any graphite requires initial commercial production qualifications, and in my prior experience, fine, medium, or coarse flake by any supplier wanting to move graphite fast will take the route of significant price discounts...I am sure Syrah is trying to do this to meet aggressive production claims and at aggressive discounted prices.
It will be interesting to see how the Chinese producers will react with their own brand of aggressive price discounts to maintain business and customer sales...I would venture to say they can discount prices much more aggressive than any other graphite producing region in the world.
If Syrah thinks that the competition will not react, they are in a cynical and delusional state as competition in ANY industry will react to protect their turf and customer base.
