VRF Batteries are brilliant and are being installed exponentially in China.
Also, Zinc Bromide flow batteries are a very suitable alternative -
IMHO, Lithium Ion will be for portable systems and VRFB or ZnBr2 flow batteries for home/industr.
LI batteries are likely to be used for EVs for a few years until a more stable solution not requiring cobalt is developed as there are few other suitable commercial alternatives.
