I recall a presentation 18 or so months ago that contained the type of information you are after. However I can’t find it at present. I can tell you that many years of research has gone into the tree selection - with the type of mallee eucalypt selected deemed to be the most suitable. It has a life of 300 – 500 years (therefore traps carbon for a long time), grows quickly (carbon absorption primarily in first 5 years), requires minimal water, densely populated (more trees per hectare) and does not need management like a pine or gum plantation.

The biggest restraint is getting enough land. The penny is starting to drop for a few farmers as the benefits of the plantation are significantly more than a land rental income. (prevention of erosion, salinity etc)

Anyway having said the above I still can’t answer your question (very good one). I have been a long term holder of this stock based on the macro fundamentals ie Carbon trading will happen, Koyoto will be signed (or something similar), companies politicians and the Australian community are starting to understand what is happening around then and why. COZ is one of the few Australian companies that can take advantage of what is going on. Certainly worth a punt (suggest the oppies for leverage – you can have mine for a $1)

    All the best
