United States Patent 6554067
A method for consolidating sand around a well, involving injecting hot water or steam through well casing perforations in to create a cement-like area around the perforation of suficient rigidity to prevent sand from flowing into and obstructing the well.
The cement area has several wormholes that provide fluid pasageways between the well and the formations, while still inhibiting sand inflow.
One way to prevent sand inflow is to construct the well with gravel-packed,slotted liners. However, such liners are expensive to install and can limit entry of fluid into or out of the well bore.Furthermore, wells with such liners are expensive to repair or modify.
This present invention provides a geochemical well completion process that will limit sand inflow from formations having unconsolidated sands.
The technology is out there to successfully address unconsolidated sands.
On more poor result due to unsatisfactory completion methods for Antares will be inexcusable.Take your time and get it right.
Still holding over 1m.
All the best.
