Bendigo court bails man accused of drugs offences
One of four men caught with a trafficable amount of methamphetamine in Campbells Creek last month has been released on bail.
Thomas Windsor, 23, of Clifton Springs, faced the Bendigo Magistrates Court yesterday.
He was charged with several offences including trafficking a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine, going equipped to steal, possessing a controlled weapon and possessing ammunition without a licence.
Windsor and three co-accused were arrested after police intercepted a speeding BMW on the Midland Highway about 10.45pm on August 22.
When police stopped the car they allegedly discovered 105 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
Three of the men, including Windsor, were arrested and remanded in custody.
One man fled the scene but was found the next day and remanded.
Yesterday, magistrate Richard Wright granted Windsor bail on a long list of conditions including that he give up his passport and not visit any points of international departure.
Windsor was supported in court by family and friends, including his father who paid a $2500 surety to ensure his son could be released from custody.
Windsor will face the same court again on November 14.
Windsor’s co-accused, Billy Guest, 20, Ryan Stalker, 31, and Jack Kennedy-Hunt, 24, remain in custody.
They are facing the same list of charges.
Stalker has also been charged with driving while suspended and exceeding the speed limit.
