Say a broker wants to buy a million BiG shares. We look at the broker data, and over two weeks they’ve bought 3 mill and sold 2 mill, net gain 1 mill shares.
Gus is saying, why don’t you just bloody buy 1 mill instead of 3 mill, and they don’t because by buying 3 mill and selling 2 they can massage the price over the course of the trades to get themselves a favourable price. Ie, buy 1 mill shares without walking the price up through the offers.
