Yes Banjar it was a token committment compared to Australia's committment in WW1 and WW2 but it absolutely dwarfs Australia's committment to so called war on terror.
The real lesson for Australia that emerged from WW2 was that it could not rely on a Great Power coming to it's aid.
Great Powers will always pursue their own interests first.
