Hi Archimides$
"It depends how you define socialism I guess. I am happy with this definition: "the set of beliefs that states that all peopleare equal and should share equally in a country's money, or the political systems based on these beliefs" (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/socialism)"
You will find the capitalist system also tells you that we are born equal and have an equal chance of getting ahead. The problem is that wealth does not die with you. It gets passed on. And over the years we have introduces or got rid of taxes so the wealthy get richer and the poorer get poorer. And that is not good for a capitalist system. Hence you are arguing against yourself.
As to who contributes more to the country's wealth, let me ask you. A man who dig ditches. An accountant. A Solicitor. In what order is the contribution? I would put it to you that is 1s The man who digs a ditch. What do accountants and solicitors contribute to society? SFA! (And I belong to one of these profession.) How do we as a society reward them?
