I'll never forget one the most incredibly moving TV or movie sequence I've ever seen. The Rex episode involved a gang who'd kdnap young girls and drug them for porn movies then dump them and kidnap another girl while evading capture.
One dumped girl was bought to a psych hospital in a catatoic state - much like some of the caged kids that Howard mistreats are when they get to see a doctor.
Anyway, nothing anybody could do would get her to open up about what happened so the police could find the criminal gang.
But Rex's detective handler snuck Rex into the girl's room and went away to let them get to know each other.
It was so incredible - how bit by bit Rex broke down her mistrust of adults and (still mute) she drew a picture (for Rex) of where she had been held that led to the gang being put of business.
This promo clip is even more 'soppy' than the show itself (vbg) but it has a lovely sound track!
If I'm a soppy 'Bleeding Heart' about dogs or kids in Ruddock cages, so be it.
