Just guessing here...
AVB has acquired Furnas. The deal will involve AVB selling Trindade North to Vale in exchange for 40m$ USD as initially agreed upon.
Instead of cash then Vale will divest an asset which might most likely be Furnas. Furnas is worth more than 40m$ so perhaps Vale will want to increase shareholding in AVB to maintain exposure to Furnas.
"Mineralisation at Furnas is 60m thick, according to drilling in 2011, extending from surface to a depth of at least 1,350 metres. In analyst presentations, Vale has labelled Furnas as one of the biggest deposits in its “copper province”. Sources say it is as big as Sossego, which produces over 100,000 copper tonnes per annum."
If so... this is AVB's ticket to become a mid tier now. I can accept the dilution if it is for a tier 1 asset. These deals don't come often.
