There was a company called Confinity in the late 90's, started by a guy named Max Levchin, that many would have never heard of.

It was started as a Palm Pilot payments and cryptography company; the founder imagining Palm Pilots to be the way of the future. Well, Palm Pilots pretty quickly vanished, however Confinity continued. And everyone would be familiar with the company it became, once it merged with x.com - PayPal.

Max Levchin and Elon Musk were competitors in the online payments space at the time, and they decided that it was better to combine forces before someone else came along and took market share from both companies.

Why do I mention this story? Because while Max Levchin was Beta testing his product it found a market on eBay. However, eBay was reportedly associated with a range of illicit activities at that point, so he attempted to stop his products usage. His financial partner advised him to just go with it. Over the next few years eBay and PayPal both had commercial traction and evolved to become what they are today. And interestingly PayPal was purchased by eBay a few years later for $1.5 billion.

So therefore, although technology has in some cases initially been associated with illegal activities, once it is embraced by the mainstream it can evolve quickly. I believe the blockchain technology that cryptocurrencies are based on will evolve as well and have many applications into the future. Although I'm not sure anyone currently knows how it will play out.

Anyway, that's not really even related to TV2U, but I wanted to add to the cryptocurrency discussion. What is related is the fact that Confinity underwent many changes on it's way to becoming PayPal and finding a commercial market. TV2U is still very much in it's infancy. We are finding our feet and a direction, backed by good technology and a product that is ready for commercialisation. Remember when we were associated with Karaoke. Will Karaoke be to TV2U what Palm Pilots were to PayPal?

So although they are very different companies, I can also see some parallels between the two. I look forward to the day we begin realising our true potential. And I don't think that day is too far away. When that day comes, the panic selling we have seen over the last few days will seem a bit silly. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

    Good luck to all.
