    OIL Endomicroscopy started life as a skin cancer diagnosing application, I think it was called "Stratum". Anyhow it didn`t get a guernsey at the time. Things have moved along in the meantime and the skin cancer application could easily be resurrected.

    The link is for skin cancer removal and describes the Gold Standard for the minimal removal of tissue during the operation. The surgeon does the pathology as well as the surgery. How much easier his life would be if he could get instantaneous pathology using a ViewNvivo.
