We all have a pretty clear idea of what you don't like. I think you underestimate some of us though. Because we favor a Liberal government doesn't mean that we support all right wing philosophies and therefore should be happy with Kevin Rudd.
I am disappointed that Costello isn't sticking around to show us what he is made of (or perhaps he has just shown us).
I actually think it was Howard and Costellos hubris that got up peoples nose and even though work choices was the straw that broke the liberals back I think Howard would have lost any way. He was admired by many because he didn't take a backward step in forcing through what he believed was right for the country. The same attitude was his undoing. The majority of liberal voters didn't like him...everyone else hated him. The fact that the party stood by him so solidly in the face of all of this indicates to me that the liberal party may have some shaky foundations.
Rudd only has to do one thing to secure my vote next time and that is work with the states to fix our health system.
There is going to be some tough times ahead for Rudd with the unions salivating. If he handles the next few years well he is young enough to be around for multiple terms.
I am hopeful that he has a strong social conscience which is after all the backbone of labor and will not be a party puppet. I am not very keen on his deputy and treasurer at the moment but lets give them fair opportunity and see what they achieve.
and now for the sad part....
where do you want me to send the $10.00 scratchie?
