A car using a small battery runs for about 100 km. If you want to extend the range, more lithium is needed. I say use Tesla battery for your math. Take the weight of it's lithium carbonate content as a yard stick. Then calculate how many cars can you build with a million tons of lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide. I say not that many Total lithium carbonate production capacity currently is about 200k tons and the prices are already going parabolic because supply is way less than the demand. Half of the cars are made in China and they don't run for more than 125 Km's due to their small and cheap batteries !!! The world total cars unit sale is 100 million a year.
