There is a good article on Oilprice.com-"New Importers keep LNG markets tight".
Its about 12 new importers of LNG who have imported LNG since about mid-2014 ,representing about 8% of recent LNG sales from waterborne LNG suppliers.
These receivers get their gas imports via FSRUs-floating regasification plants that receive their gas (it comes ashore as gas,not as frozen LNG) that are buildable for about 50% of the cost of the "old" wharf-based plants and these plants can and are being leased.
This is HZNs likely trump card as they have inferred.
The article refers to ".. the long anticipated glut in global LNG hasnt arrived.." and ".. new and emerging LNG importers are reshaping the waterborne gas market..
The article refers to a second wave of new importers-in all sorts of places.
Sounds good to me.We will hear a lot more,Im sure, from HZN (probably soon) on FSRUs.We may have to market to existing LNG takers in our designated or chosen marketing area but FSRUs open up potential markets for us that dont exist at present but will if FSRUs are utilised.
