Sirocco, I have read the AFR articles numerous times and I also went back and reread the CBA Dec announcement and I agree with your sentiments and personally cant see much of a problem in what both what GSW and CBA have said. Yes for GSW a bit of poor disclosure about the early deals is perhaps a bit sloppy, but lets face it the major deals since have put those into the immaterial category.
I am a big fan of the AFR but hold the view that the two articles are pretty one sided and sensationalist.
The GSW response will be important as to how the market reacts when trading re-opens.
