The ‘the sky is falling’ Johhny Come Latelies really don’t phase this core group in the slightest- if anything they provide an amusement and are welcomed because the discussion they get going always has the chance of helping new but shy people to come along and learn about our company, potentially buying in and receiving the same rewards we long termers have over time.
Chart thread so chart talk to finish- the commodity giants are taking a hit and so are many juniors- it will take another moment for the Americans themselves and of course the wider world to remember that a government shut down has nothing to do with the underlying economy.
There was big hit last time they shut down & we’re seeing the same thing again this time.
Sell on the news* When that news is that the American government is so bloated and out of touch with the reality that they should just put their heads down and get to work like the rest of us we see this kind of malaise strike markets.
It’s smbarrasing for the Americans and we all know that negative emotions generally play out in a negative way & this is basically the worst embarrassment a people can suffer- that their legions of layers-cum-politicians are so self centred that they think it’s ok for government employees, which remember includes the guy in the trench getting shot at overseas, the good men & women of some hospitals and schools etc too... they must keep working while not being paid at this moment in time.
Thinking of it like that what a terrible embarrassment- after decades of them laughing at the Russian soldiers etc going without pay for months they themselves, the world’s most powerful and enriched nation are suffering that same thing not because their nation is poor, quite the opposite, they are suffering because their leaders etc are so rich!
