But you're right, it is the gross performance and it's pretty shameful that they don't report the net performance and SP performance in tables like this. It borders on misleading!
With all due respect i think that's your quote above that's misleading.
Have you tried checking their website at all? Here's the links just in case:

As far as i can tell no other LIC on ASX provides performance tables as in-depth as CDM (happy to be corrected on this one though!).
