The founders talked it up. That is the prerogative of any promoter trying to raise money on any stockmarket. Any startup is a chicken and egg problem. Fake it 'til you make it. At the end of the day it is a real solution helping solve a real problem with real, growing numbers of : users, transactions and revenues.
There are much more egregious examples of misleading promotion out there than this.
