The bot doesn't use much volume at all to move or control the price. Some of my analysis of trading months I can see it doing hundreds of trades for pittance volume. Its more about how it does it. The bot works more off psychology than anything forcing (fearing) people into trades they wouldn't otherwise make. E.g hold the price for ages, new holders become disenfranchised and sell down. Bot doesn't even need volume. Just wears them down 1 share at a time. One thing about the bot is its there to make money and we just need to ride on its coattails. It either sees value or it is playing off fotm or fomo.

My understanding is there is actually an official recognition of large trading houses as they are required under the system to be in the market. That's why in some stocks you see weird orders way out of the money range because they don't want to be in it but have too. I've always referred to them as market makers but they may be called something else. Also understand the dynamic use of the term as per Seagull.
