threadgold is a journo and has to sell stories and the best stories to sell are those that create controversy

they are the musings of one man trying to maitain his position.

he doesnt say anything that wasnt known or isnt known now by the iron ore industry.

he doesnt take into account a new wordwide economic era.

but he failed to mention a lot of other relative factors like

1-hemetite grades are declining.

2-hemetite resources are declining and are of a stranded location which makes infratrucuture unviable

3-many hemetite ores are low grade which require upgrading by beneficating at more expense.

4-hemetite ores are more polluting and less efficient in producing steel.

5-hemetite ore resources are generally small in width and require more expensive mining to get out of the ground.

6-magnetite is less polluting and more efficient in producing steel.

7-the chinese and japanese hate bhp/rio and will try to break their backs.

8-the chinese prefered iron ore supplier of 1st choice will be their own jv producers.

9-the worldwide magnetite ore use is very much bigger than threadgold indicates.

10-a good efficient magnetite operation can be very profitable as GBG BFS indicates.

11-ore price isnt every thing, quality, efficiency and reliability of supply is just as important to iron ore end users.

12-some steel mills are set up to use hemetite and some are set up to use magnetite but more and more will have to switch to magnetite because it is more efficient in prodcing steel and less polluting wich is of major concern by the facemask wearing chinese.
