Sydney - Friday - November 30: (RWE Aust Business News) - Western
Areas (ASX:WSA) has intersected significant widths of nickel at the
Spotted Quoll discovery, Western Australia.
An intersection of 6.2m at 4.8 per cent nickel with 3.6m at 6.9pc
from 121.5m has underpinned the drilling success.
The drilling has now shifted to defining a mineral resource to
200m depth.
The sulphide zone appears to be continuous and forms part of a
regional shear zone below the main ultramafic/sediment contact.
There are similarities with the setting of Spotted Quoll to the
upper part of the nearby Flying Fox mine.
There is potential for significant nickel deposits at shallow
depth and a bonanza grade within structural settings or associated with
granite intrusions at depth.
