Not really sure what you are trying to say. Their job was never to check the statements made in announcements. Their job was only to ensure that the announcements were drafted in a manner that was in accordance with the guidelines. The staff checking announcements before release to market do not need to verify whether the CBA approved an announcement they were tagged in nor whether the numbers quoted had a basis for substantiation. Do you expect the staff to contact each and every counterparty mentioned in each and every announcement to confirm details?
The onus has always been on the company to tell it as it is.
