The ABA's excuses lack substance... The ABA wants unanimous implementation in March 2009. Why? So the banks can profit from another peak xmas/new year period, and to ensure no independent operator has a first mover advantage.
Re sergeant's scenario 2: if you knew exactly what you were paying, and the cost differed very little from what your bank was charging you, and considering the convenience of the service, you're more likely to use it again.
