It you're a seasoned expert at it then TA is probably very useful, maybe invaluable, however obviously it is not the be all and end all. The impact of an asx ann. obviously can't be expected to be predicted by TA. To give credit, Dory certainly maintained a view quite some time back that the sp was in a steady downtrend and likely to remain that way. He was right while those critical of him maintained a "buy" sentiment from a dollar down to recent 42c or thereabouts.
