Amazon is not in the business of building software.....
Banks make lots of money too, but why do they use companies like salesforce.com for crm and pega for case management, and Microsoft for their email software.... with enough time and money these big companies could build it... But it's not their business.
Crazy to think some people just don't get this
Why reinvent the wheel if another company like getswift have already done it.
To give you an idea, a govt agency decided to build their own case management system. For 2 years they threw 100 developers at 150 k a year a pop at it and built their own bespoke case management solution. 10 years later they are still trying to keep it running. All the original developers have left. It's no longer providing a fast and great user experience. What do they do? They are going to buy a off the shelf software solution for case management.
SaaS is also constantly updating and new features coming out and support is included.
Do some more research man please ...

Amazon not in the software business? You have to be kidding me... Amazon isn't just some online store 'man'. And even so, Amazon might have been happy for Getswifts Software, but not after this big mess.
But seriously, you actually said 'amazon is not in the business of building software.' That's hilarious.
