The billionaire Jiff Bros of New York are looking to spend some $14Bn of their (inherited ex publishing empire) fortune on extraction of oil from Queensland oil shale deposits near the Bruce Hwy at the site of the Whitsunday Coast airport. Resource is stated as 9.7 Bn barrels insitu oil.
The "Queensland Energy Resources Ltd" site is close to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park & will be of concern to the environmental movement.
GRV/ESMCA deposits are 60 Km away & a 60 Km from the Great Barrier Reef. That looks a positive to me.
We just need the environmental knock for the Jiffs' Whitsunday project & tell them there's 11.25 Bn barrels just down the road!
