Briter
you guys certainly like repeating the same garbage don't you
You clearly do not believe in global warming, that is fine you are allowed to have your believes
Just as there are many who do believe in it it
THAT IS NOT THE POINT
We had this little thing a bit over a week ago called an election
Labor went into the election with some very clear promises, one of which was that if Labor won they would sign Australia up to Kyoto
Not conduct a costing into signing Kyoto
Not form a commity to investigate signing
Not to review signing
BUT TO SIGN
Labor won the election, unless you missed that point and therefore have a clear mandate to do what they promised they would do in the lead up to the election. That is what happens in a democracy
What the individual thought process of the people who voted labor and gave them this mandate was, I do not know. But then maybe the majority of the Australian public are just not as smart as you.
As for the libs
is this the same libs whose environment minister came out just prior to the elction stating that Australia should sign Kyoto
the same libs whose new leader supports the signing
the same libs who for several years now have been stating very clearly that we are on track to meet the Kyoto targets.
So where is this cost to signing, if we are on track to meet the Kyoto targets, then the costs of doing so are already being incurred and also means we will not be penalised for not meeting the targets
That is of course working on the assumption that the libs, in particular Howard were not lying
