Many years ago, had a small job in Hobart and after, decided to climb Mt Wellington, in spite of there being some snow in the middle of summer, from memory. Half way up in my work clothes and shoes and without any sort of jacket, realised I had bitten off a little bit too much; but I pressed on thinking only of the cafe and hot coffee at the top. Of course there is no cafe and by the time I got to the top there was xero vis and I was frozen and not in good shape.. I thumbed a ride down with a group who happened to be the connections of Blacks a Fake, in Tas for the Inter Dom; so perhaps that gives the year. I'm not a trotting type but they suggested that the Black was a sure thing. Had my first trotting bet ever and walked away with a good win. Synchronicity at its best. jwt
