Things around the Frere/Earaheedy area. This is from CAZ latest quarterly:

...The Company has made application for two tenements (E69/2375, E69/2376) in the Earaheedy Basin of Western Australia, the Earaheedy Iron Ore Project. The project is located within the Earaheedy Basin which contains thick, strike persistent iron formations which were the subject of iron ore exploration in the late 1970s. Cazaly’s tenements take in prospective iron ore areas highlighted by the GSWA geological mapping of the Frere Formation; a granular iron-formation and silicified granular iron formation. GSWA geochemical mapping work confirms high-grade iron ore mineralisation with stream samples containing up to 63.57% Fe with low phosphorous levels (0.06% P). The Company looks forward to the grant of the tenements to the commencement of more detailed exploration....

Taken from press release 27/11/2007 of Talisman Mining (TLM)

    YAMADA (100% Talisman)

The Yamada project comprises a single Exploration Licence(E69/2460) under application by Talisman, situated in the northern Earaheedy Basin, Western Australia, approximately 160km north of the township of Wiluna. The tenement encompasses sections of the Proterozoic Frere Formation, a sedimentary unit which contains thick, strike continuous iron formations (Figure 2). The Yamada project area contains several thick outcrops of iron formation up to 2.5km in strike extent. Aeromagnetic data (Figure 1) indicates that these iron formations may continue under shallow cover over strike distances of up to 18km within the tenement. There has been no previous iron ore exploration within the tenement area. The Frere iron formations were the target of limited exploration for commercial iron ore deposits by several company’s in the late 1970’s. Exploration at this time by Amax Exploration (Australia) Inc. in the Miss Fairbairn Hills area immediately west of the Talisman tenement produced rock chip channel sample results to 75m @ 62.6% Fe. Limited follow up drilling produced a best result of 14m @ 59.3% Fe. The mineralisation at Miss Fairbairn Hills occurs as hematite – goethite enrichment produced as a result of weathering....

    ...............

This one is taken from a current press release as of 1/11/2007 by GIR:

..Initial 40 hole reconnaissance RC drilling program has commenced at Giralia's 100% owned Earaheedy iron ore Project. Previous rock sampling of outcropping high-grade hematite iron ore mineralisation reported grades to 66% Fe, with low phosphorous, minor shallow drilling in the 1970’s returned 14 metres @ 59.3 % Fe, 4 metres @ 60.4 % Fe (at end of hole). New 11,000 line kilometre aeromagnetic survey has outlined 130 kilometres of iron formation strike on Giralia’s tenements. Shallow dips and thrust fault stacking provides potential for very large deposits of hematite iron ore....

Then of course the VEC IPO next week

UOG has applied for a license in the Frere/Earaheedy area prospective for iron-ore recently

    .............

ZNC purchased a properts in the Frere/Earaheedy area from GIR and provided a nice geological interpretation based on
    historic drilling:
