What I have noted in this debate is how the anti Turnbull right wing brigade is dealing with this issue,
While Barnaby was seen as fully onside with Turnbull they slipped the boot into Barnaby over the scandal(and rightly so imo). However, now that they are not seen as bosom buddies they now slow down the anti-Barnaby rhetoric and go for Turnbull because he decided to acknowledge that Barnaby had failed to live up to the required standards of high office. Now they try to diminish what Barnaby has done using deflection and excuses in order to try and tarnish the Prime Minister.
The common link in this is that those that are playing this game appear to come across as foot soldiers for the former deposed PM Tony Abbott.
Even conservatives have referred negatively to the situation concerning Barnaby. Hanson had something to say. Cory Bernardi would agree with the Prime Minister that Ministers bonking with ones staff is not on. Even the Australians Greg Sheridan at times a critic of Turnbull and friend of Tony Abbott has referred to Barnaby as a dead duck and accepts the PMs edict of no bonking by Ministers of their staff. So what is the motivation of those supposed conservative right wingers here who keep changing their tune dependant on the degree they can turn the debate to try and damage the PM. As I say, perhaps they are trying to be vengeful foot soldiers for an aggrieved Tony Abbott.
In conclusion I do acknowledge that there are quite a few conservative inclined posters here who are not playing the game I refer to above and instead have consistently expressed their disgust in relation to the Deputy PM.
