Mightypirate, there are a very large number of chemical compounds classified as monoterpenes or monoterpenoids. They are all of natural origin and, in particular, plant sourced.

Cellmid undertook research to identify the active chemical compounds in their formulae and identified a number of compounds with structures that were active. They then investigated a large number of chemically related compounds and identified a number with particularly high activity. They are now incorporating such compounds within their formulae.

All these compounds fall into the two classifications above and can be isolated from various plant sources. As a consequence it is not necessary to use synthetic chemicals. The supplementary compounds can be isolated in concentrated form from plant sources.
