Looking into this company for a buddy of mine and I came across the CEO appointment announcement that struck me as almost ludicrous.
"Mr Wither will commence as the Chief Executive Officer in 3 months time and a summary of Mr Wither’s contract terms is attached." "In the interim, Symbol has a leading management team in place with Chairman Mr Andrew Simpson and Director, Mr Barry Bolitho both taking executive positions until the new Chief Executive Officer commences on 23 April 2018."
"Mr Bolitho will be paid his director fees as outlined in the Prospectus as remuneration for working 2.5 days per month. For any additional days Mr Bolitho will be paid a daily fee of $2,000."
"Mr Simpson will be paid his director fees as outlined in the Prospectus as remuneration for working 5 days per month. For any additional days Mr Simpson will be paid a daily fee of $2,000"
Taken from the prospectus Mr Simpson is set to receive 90k per annum whilst Mr Bolitho is set to receive 60k per annum.
From my understanding this means that for 3 months whilst Mr Bolitho is interim for 3 months he will continue to receive his director wage of 60k...for working 2.5 days per month whilst also earning 2k per DAY during this 3 month period, assuming a 5 day working week this is circa 40k per month plus the 5k per month for working 2.5 days. The same goes for Mr Simpson; however he will be required to work 5 days for his 90k salary!!
1. Why does it take 2 people to do 1 mans job in the interim?
2. How on earth does a company with a market cap of 15.3M even justify paying out this much money to management who have released 6 announcements in 2018...2 of which outline new management appointments and only 1 of which talks about company projects.
This is of a great concern to myself and something I will be letting my buddy know is definitely not a good sign of cash management and regard for shareholders. I bit of further research into the management behind the company will also shed some concerns, but I am not here to flame individuals.
