(Pre-qualifying comment: I don't own SDF; I own its fellow-listed broking business, AUB.)
And, I have to agree with you, the result wasn't bad at all.
In fact, it looked like a very clean result to me.
I suspect the sell-off might reflect a market that - by pricing the SDF at a P/E multiple above 20x going into the result - might have been expecting an upgrade to guidance given the anecdotes of firming premiums.
