The “30 Newspoll losses” that Turnbull weaponised against Abbott were not about preferred PM. They were about the 2PP. The primary vote and 2PP was better under Abbott’s leadership. Plus, Preferred PM doesn’t equal popularity. Look at MT’s net satisfaction ratings. They’re awful!
