Its clear you dont understand that the GST is an income distribution process.

For the first 10 years WA was the "mendicant" state because it had little income and needed to be propped up, then it had its mining boom which saw its need for a larger share of the GST drop.
Only problem is that LNP p****ed its mining boom money up against the wall and Barnett then started crying poor wanting more GST to compensate.

Notice how he conveniently forgot about all the extra GST WA got in the first 10 years.

As for utopian schemes - can you direct me to massive coal reserves that South Australia could use for electricity generation?
