something has gone skewiff in terms of investment in this country when an unproductive asset such as property outperforms investment in equity used to produce goods, create jobs etc
I don't know whether it is the tax system or what, but it should be those who risk their capital in business ventures that build something that are rewarded in the long term cf property
for that reason in the long term, equity markets should outperform property as the risk is higher - but taxation favours property investment.
