According to the BOM website Charters Towers has had 132mm in the last week with 75mm falling yesterday, the previous week was 85mm. Townsville had 500mm in the past week which is extraordinary for them. The upside is that the Ross River dam is now full which hasn't happened for many years.
Those of you who know the geography of the area know that 500mm in Townsville has no effect on the Charters Towers area. Power outages during periods of heavy rain and higher than normal winds are not unusual. Normal conditions will return today.
Clearly RVR reporting on negative impact to production is more an a..e covering exercise given the "precious" behaviour of the ASX and certain investors.
