I find it really annoying when people post complete and utter nonsense on this site. The post you wrote about a technical problem is absolute nonsense..anyone who knows anything knows that it really does not work the way you describe it...in a mining operation no one guy holds all the technical knowledge and if they did and it "badly needed fixing in a hurry" they would get the guy to site, this stuff happens all the time in oil and gas and no expense is spared...PNA (and Seppon) regularly use Choppers in Laos to fly critical equipment to site if they need it in a hurry and the expense is not insignificant..please mate, dont talk nonsense purely becuase this is an anymous platform to do so.
I only know of one or two technical procedures in the resources game that need extremely specialist knowledge and one of those is the Ball Mooring Device on offshore FPSO's....seriously it is part of my job to send specialists to sites all over Asia and when these guys really need someone then no expense is spared and they are sent without hesitation, business class seats etc etc.
