The language being used to describe this deposit i.e. anomalies (ie a bleeding higher than normal background sample is an anomoly) is vague and it is intended to be vague. They don't want other suitors crawling over the top of them for this asset.
If you spent $20M and only had anomolies to show for it, you (Rio) would be too embarrassed to tell anyone. In fact $20M would never have been spent, you would have quite at $1M.
You will see in time that this asset is somewhat more advanced than is being let on.
Rio would be selling this because its simply too small to make a difference to them. They may hate Indonesia as well but I don't know. Lets assume that they do as everyone does so thats just normal.
Would savvy corporate heavyweights in Australia be issuing a huge number of shares and options for an asset that is simply moose pasture with anomolies? Of course not.
I repeat, this asset is being acquired at a significant discount to its real potential.
