An upbeat end to the US markets overnight.

S&P500 2691 up 14 pts and 44 pts from its lows.

DOW down 71 but up 320 from its lows at the start of the day.

Nasdaq up over 1% and up 173 points from its lows.

Russell 200 Index up 1.7%.

Strong buying came in mid afternoon with a fair bit of conviction. A lot of the Dow losses were due to McDonalds. Without their poor showing DOW would have been near flat.

The US markets at last had a different sentiment into the close compared to the last three days where they had a dramatic sell off. It was great to see some solid bargain hunting at the end of the day, especially on a Friday.

Hopefully should bode well for the Aussie markets on Monday.
