Here are some comments of a senior manager who has worked in China for the last 18 months in regions.
The Chinese Govt is working aggressively on environmental issues they have so many
that it is a matter of where to focus and I suspect rural communities water
treatment is well down the priorities. Reason being that the rural
communities have been living where they are for centuries with no facilities
and limited sickness etc. A lot of toilet waste is ploughed back into
fields. I have seen the piles in the fields awaiting cultivation. Assuming I
observe correctly.
China's biggest pollution is air, in Beijing and East Coast Cities. Then
Power generation and then what to do about so many cars getting on the road
and cramming up the existing infrastructure.
That said, China is still motivated to improve and get its population out of
poverty, well-educated and healthy.
