Hi Filter 48
Why is it that when you don't like a verse in the bible, all of a sudden the literal meaning doesn't hold. You want to put an interpretation to it. Now why don't you finish Jesus' sentence.
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed
[c] in heaven.” He was talking to Peter was he not? or was he talking to himself?
No one suggests that it is Peter's church except nutters here. It is Jesus's church with Peter being appointed the first leader. This may stick in your gall but and you may want to come up with looney interpretations but it will not work.
If you want to argue that the Catholic Church has showed itself not worthy of what was given to them over history, then, you don't have an argument from me.
And spare the rubbish about Jesus' sermon on the mount. You nutters have obliterated that gentle Jesus by accepting and quoting the abomination that is Relevations. Do you recognise the Jesus of the mount with Jesus in revelations?
And by the way, as far as killing and murdering by the Catholic Church, what is new compared by the killing and murdering on the orders of the abomination of the god of the Jews? The popes have a direct line to him. They can bind and unbind as they wish because Jesus told them so. And if you don't believe that, then you are calling Jesus a liar and that won't do will it.
Just like Christians tell the writers of the Old Testament how to interpret their books, latter day warriors are telling the catholic Church how to interpret the New Testament which they wrote. Go figure!
