Yes I agree, I worked in Holdens for 23 years.When I started in the 80s there was a 45% Tariff on all imported cars to protect the industry.When I took a package in 2005 it had been reduced to 5%. Now we are practically the only western country that does not make cars we have no need for an import tariff.The trouble is the Government becomes reliant on these Taxes just like the temporary E.S.Levy in S.A. that been in place for as long as I can remember.
