"Could the Kalkaroo-Mutooroo Cobalt District be a reality?"


As demand for Electric Vehicles and smart-grid batteries continues to surge, manufacturers are increasingly looking for stable, conflict-free supplies of their component metals.

Beyond the corporate social responsibility downside of sourcing from the DRC are the possibility that new hostilities could create supply disruptions.

It is easy to see why brands like Apple and Tesla would want to look elsewhere for its cobalt supply.

Furthermore, the increasing use of cobalt within Electric Vehicle and smart-grid batteries absolutely requires a stable, reliable supply chain.


And that’s where companies like Havilah (ASX: HAV) come in.

HAV has amassed a portfolio of copper projects that include cobalt (Kalkaroo and Mutooroo) in the safe, legal jurisdiction of South Australia.

Something that should appeal to Apple and Tesla.

With the Electric Vehicle market expected to eventually reach 40% of the overall vehicle market in the medium term, developing its Kalkaroo and Mutooroo copper/ cobalt projects could put HAV in the proverbial driver's seat.

For me, the "Kalkaroo-Mutooroo Cobalt District" remains technically exciting.

Who doesn't like a good geological story or a potential 'elephant'.
