I note their co-founder (Paul Wilson) bought shares on market at 83.5c last year, just saw that. That's a good sign if nothing else. Paul Wilson is a smart dude, my boss knows him pretty well. His track record is strong. If they were just making investments and standing back - i'd be nervous, but if people like David Kirk (ex CEO of fairfax, who bought Domain) and Paul Wilson are sitting with the businesses etc - i'm much more comfortable with that.
I've met Georgina before (from the investment team) she's very smart.
The reality with Growth Capital investing in Tech is - you're going to have to write off about 3-4 out of 10 of your portfolio and the rest will hopefully do very well. it's the nature of this sort of business, anyone who expects otherwise is kidding themselves. I expect they'll have more failures.
current share price at 79c is now 35% discount to NTA.
I think the share holders are despondent as they didn't expect any businesses in the portfolio to fail.
