I said I'd buy again if it went back under $10, but actually I'm not sold on this yet.
Certainly doesn't seem the down trend is over yet on a TA basis.
On the FA basis, what have they done to avoid a repeat of last years net loss?
Are climate events going to improve?
They mentioned that they are thinking about these risks, but I don't see a plan, other than jettisoning the Sth Am division. I think the US seems like the real liability here. Hurricanes are the new norm there - and the impact zone is much larger than before. That means areas that have never had one before, which means a pattern of premiums being too cheap is likely to emerge over the coming years. How to deal with increasing weather risks isn't in the actuarial studies' textbooks.
