Whether I'm buying a car or an expensive new lens, booking dinner or a hotel, or even looking for a house, I jump online and flip through review sites, read half a dozen of the best and worst reviews and check the star rating. I never, ever watch a video because I don't have the time, the inclination or the attention span. Facebook, YouTube, Insta - they all preach that shorter is better. You lose most people somewhere round the 5 second mark, and that's when your content is actually good.
We've all become experts at very efficiently browsing large volumes of text and stills, cherry picking information from multiple sources. Video does absolutely nothing but slow you down, and video from the proprietors isn't impartial either - why would anyone bother watching it?
I spend hours online every day. I read dozens of sites and transact dozens of times. How many times have I watched a video review of anything at all? Donuts.
Makes zero sense to me. But I'm only speaking for myself here.

When I recently bought a car I watched pretty much every YouTube review there was! You can get a much better idea of the performance and engine sound etc from a video.
